The Bio-eVap range is Takahe’s large-format line for bioanalytical CROs and DMPK laboratories running Phase II and Phase IV clinical trials. Four models cover 100 to 210 sample positions — including India’s highest-capacity nitrogen evaporator — all using vortexed nitrogen for uniform evaporation across every position in a large array.
Vortex Gas Blowdown technology. All Takahe large format nitrogen evaporators use vortexed nitrogen, which enlarges the evaporation surface area and equalises gas pressure across every position — delivering fast, uniform evaporation and lower gas consumption than conventional blowdown.
Entry to large-format evaporation — 100 samples in a 10 × 10 matrix
Base model
100 samples
10 × 10
The entry point to large-format nitrogen evaporation. The Bio-eVap 100 processes 100 samples in a 10 × 10 matrix — suited to CROs running medium-size Phase II study batches.
Individual manifold control allows partial batches to be run efficiently without wasting nitrogen.
Flagship dual-pressure model — 144 samples with contamination-free run initiation
Flagship
Dual Pressure
144 samples
matrix
Takahe’s flagship large-format model. The Dual Pressure option sets separate initial and operational nitrogen pressures at method start — eliminating contamination risk from excess gas pressure at run initiation. This is a unique feature not available on the LX model.
Removable nozzle tips allow sonication with no realignment, and a door-open sensor auto-stops the run if the door is opened mid-cycle.
Cost-effective 144-position model — same throughput, simplified gas control
Cost-effective
3 X 4 manifold control
Single switch
manifold control
The cost-effective route to 144-sample throughput. The Bio-eVap LX shares the same 12 × 12 matrix and 220 LPM nitrogen efficiency as the DP — with simplified gas control: four manifold rows operated by a single switch make setup fast and straightforward.
For labs where Dual Pressure is not required, the LX offers equivalent throughput at a lower acquisition cost.
India's highest-capacity nitrogen evaporator — 210 samples at just 250 LPM
New Launch
210 samples
Highest in India
India’s highest-capacity nitrogen evaporator. The Bio-eVap UHC (Ultra High Capacity) processes 210 samples per batch at a maximum of 250 LPM — well below the 400 LPM required by competing systems of equivalent capacity.
Vortexing distributes nitrogen uniformly across all 210 positions, eliminating batch-to-batch variability at this scale. Designed for 4 mL RIA vials — the standard format for bioanalytical pharmacokinetic studies.

Drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics labs needing uniform, reproducible evaporation across large sample arrays for GLP-compliant work.
Bio-eVap 100 · 144 DP
Both share the same 12 × 12 matrix, 220 LPM gas consumption, and vortexed nitrogen blowdown. The 144 DP adds Dual Pressure — separate initial and operational pressures set at method start, eliminating contamination risk at run initiation. The LX has four manifolds on a single switch — simpler and lower cost. Choose DP for full-compliance workflows; choose LX where Dual Pressure is not required.
At run start, nozzle tips may carry residual liquid. Applying full operational pressure immediately can cause a brief gas burst that cross-contaminates adjacent samples. Dual Pressure sets a lower initial pressure that transitions automatically to operational pressure once steady-state flow is established — eliminating that risk without operator intervention. It is exclusive to the Bio-eVap 144 DP.
Competing large-format evaporators compensate for uneven gas distribution by increasing total flow. Vortexing distributes nitrogen efficiently from the outset, so no excess is needed — the Bio-eVap UHC achieves 210-sample throughput at 250 LPM maximum, roughly 37% less than competing systems.
The collection racks of the corresponding speX SPE system fit directly into the Bio-eVap, and evaporation racks fit back into the SPE system — no decanting, no relabelling. Bio-eVap 144 DP and LX ⇄ speX 144; Bio-eVap UHC ⇄ speX 210. This removes 20–30 minutes of technician time per batch and a critical contamination-risk point.

Automated low volume sample concentrator — up to 50 samples per batch
The SpeedoVap LV (SVLV) is Takahe’s most widely installed nitrogen evaporator — an automated, high-speed low volume concentrator handling up to 50 samples per batch using interchangeable racks for tube formats from 1.5 mL to 30 mL.
Gas can be activated selectively on any of five independent manifolds, so different sample types can run simultaneously. Widely used for solvent evaporation in pharmaceutical drug analysis and pesticide extract preparation.
