The Duo-eVap is Takahe’s flagship well plate nitrogen evaporator for diagnostic and research laboratories processing 96-well microplates under a fume hood. Its dual-heating design directs heated nitrogen from both above and below each well simultaneously for faster, more uniform evaporation than single-surface methods.
The adjustable bay accommodates plates from 24 to 384 wells, plus 12 mm test tubes with optional accessories. Needles are visible during the run, removable, and autoclavable – simplifying batch-to-batch decontamination.

The Dual Duo-eVap processes two standard 96-well plates simultaneously i.e. 192 samples per run. It best meets the needs of a high-throughput laboratory processing two well plates by the same method in a single batch.
Both plate bays share the same gas, temperature, and flow settings — optimal for CRO and diagnostic labs running identical study batches side by side. Custom configurations with individual bay control are available on request.

The SpeedoVap 96WP is a closed-lid 96-well plate evaporator with a microprocessor-controlled dry block and programmable timer. Set the block temperature and run time; nitrogen flows through nozzles into each well and shuts off automatically with an audio alarm when complete.
The closed lid encloses the bay entirely, and an in-built exhaust vent means no fume hood is required. Best suited to labs with a fixed 96-well workflow and no need to run vials or alternative plate formats alongside.
Note: concentrated acid solutions may be used only with a highly efficient exhaust system in place — consult Takahe before use.

The SpeedoVap Dry Block replaces the water bath with a precision aluminium dry-heat block — the preferred choice where water-borne cross-contamination is a concern. Low contamination risk makes it well suited to sensitive clinical, forensic, and trace-analysis workflows.
Processes up to 15 samples simultaneously using the same nitrogen blowdown principle as the rest of the SpeedoVap range, with three independently controlled manifolds and full timer control.

Needle depth is adjustable, so gas hits the liquid surface directly – the biggest single factor in dry-down speed. The bay drops or lifts to take any plate from 24 to 384 wells, plus tubes and vials. Needles stay visible through the run, so the analyst stops at “just dry” instead of over-drying volatile analytes. Removable, autoclavable needles make decontamination straightforward.

Yes. The Dual Duo-eVap runs two standard 96-well plates simultaneously — 192 samples per batch. Both bays share gas, temperature and flow settings by default, which suits CRO and diagnostic labs running identical study batches side by side. Individual bay control is available as a custom configuration on request.
On the Duo-eVap, the gas manifold head lifts off and the needles are individually removable and autoclavable – they can also be sonicated or replaced if damaged. Because the wells stay visible and vapour is drawn straight to the hood, there is no enclosed chamber for residue to accumulate in. A clear, documented answer when an auditor asks about carryover.
Both models handle aqueous and organic solvents as standard. Concentrated acid solutions require a highly efficient exhaust system in place – please consult Takahe before use so we can confirm suitability for your method. Anti-corrosion and PTFE-coated needle options are available on request for aggressive chemistries.
The Duo-eVap draws 100 LPM per channel; the SpeedoVap 96WP runs at 170 LPM. Cylinder supply works, but at plate-format throughput most labs find the changeover frequency and cost add up quickly. Takahe manufactures nitrogen generators sized for exactly this duty — ask us to specify one alongside your evaporator.

The SpeedoVap LV (SVLV) is Takahe’s most widely installed nitrogen evaporator — an automated, high-speed low volume concentrator handling up to 50 samples per batch using interchangeable racks for tube formats from 1.5 mL to 30 mL.
Gas can be activated selectively on any of five independent manifolds, so different sample types can run simultaneously. Widely used for solvent evaporation in pharmaceutical drug analysis and pesticide extract preparation.
