Sample preparation begins with motion. Whether you need to vortex a hundred tubes before extraction, rotate samples gently overnight, or shake and incubate cultures at a controlled temperature, Takahe builds a purpose-designed instrument for the task. Choose by the type of motion your workflow needs — vortexing, rotation, or shaking.
It uses high-speed orbital motion to create a vortex inside each tube. It is the fastest way to mix, resuspend a pellet, or dissolve a sample — and the multi-tube format lets a laboratory vortex a hundred or more tubes in a single, uniform run. This is the standard step before extraction in BA/BE and analytical workflows.
Mixing by end-over-end rotation is gentle and complete. Instead of high-speed agitation, the tube is rotated through a full 360°, continuously re-suspending settled material without foaming or heat. This suits sensitive biological samples, reagent preparation, and long incubation reactions where vortexing would be too harsh.
Shaking moves an entire platform of flasks, bottles, or vessels — in a circular orbit, a back-and-forth reciprocating stroke, or a wrist-action arc. Shakers handle larger vessels and longer runs: culture growth, liquid-liquid extraction, leaching, and assay incubation. Add temperature control and the same platform becomes an incubator shaker for fermentation and biological work.

Nitrogen evaporators are used wherever samples must be concentrated or dried before instrumental analysis. Here are the primary application areas Takahe instruments serve.

High-throughput vortexing before extraction; the 180-position vortexer is the standard instrument.

Mixing, resuspension, reconstitution across QC and R&D; gentle rotary mixing protects sensitive formulations.

Reciprocating and wrist-action shaking for liquid-liquid extraction and leaching prior to GC-MS/LC-MS.

Orbital shaking with controlled temperature for culture, fermentation, and enzyme work (incubator ambient–60 °C).

Sample mixing and agitation for toxicology, dope testing, and clinical chemistry.

Agitation and extraction in antibiotic and chemical residue testing for aquaculture export compliance.
A vortexer uses high-speed orbital motion to create a vortex inside each tube. A rotary mixer rotates tubes end-over-end through 360° at low speed for gentle, complete mixing without foaming or heat. Vortexer for speed; rotary mixer for sensitive samples and long incubations.
Orbital suits culture growth and plate washing. Reciprocating gives better phase contact for extraction and leaching (horizontal and vertical configs). Wrist-action gives a gentle arc for delicate agitation.
Yes. The Incubator Shaker combines shaking with PID temperature control from ambient to 60 °C, with either orbital or horizontal reciprocating motion. The standalone Orbital and Reciprocating shakers can also be specified with the incubator option.
The Multi-tube Vortexer — 180 Position holds up to 180 tubes. Interchangeable racks process microcentrifuge tubes, standard test tubes, and 96-well plates without modification.
Yes – designed, built, and quality-tested at the Navi Mumbai facility, manufacturing since 2003 with local installation, training, and after-sales support.
